Playgroup Details
Playgroup at Plenty Valley Montessori School caters for children aged 0 - 3 years in a structured, relaxed learning environment.
It gives children the opportunity to become comfortable and confident in a group of mixed-age children, some of whom may become classmates and long-term friends. It also gives parents the chance to develop friendships based on shared interests and philosophies.
Children who attend Playgroup have a very smooth transition into our First Cycle rooms, as they are very aware of the routines of a Montessori classroom, and are familiar with the school environment. A wide variety of age-appropriate activities and materials will be available to the children. Montessori principles will be followed regarding arrangement, presentation and care of the materials.
Playgroup operates between 9:15 am and 11:45 am on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The cost is $15:00 per session. Fees include consumable materials, refreshments for children and parents.
A Creative Arts playgroup session also operates on a Monday and Wednesday from 10:30 - 12:00pm. The emphasis is on drama, art, craft, music, and group activities. This session is structured to cater for the older children in Playgroup. The cost for these sessions is $125 per Term.
Cost per session for siblings will be $60:00 per Term, and siblings under the age of 1 year will be free of charge. Come along to see for yourself. Your child is guaranteed of being involved with you in a peaceful, purposeful learning environment.
