About Us

In 2004, the marketing committee began the process of reviewing the school’s prospectus, school sign and other advertising materials. This became necessary as the prospectus, in particular, was developed some years ago. Since then some school details have changed and additional programs, such as LOTE and Playgroup have been made available but are not outlined in the existing prospectus.

The review of the school’s publicity materials also provided an opportunity to review the design of the school logo. Feedback to the committee was, that while the existing logo has served the school well, it does not fully capture the essence of what the school offers today.

The committee worked with marketing experts and a graphic designer to develop a concept for the logo. From this work, and feedback from the school community via last year’s marketing survey, it was identified that our school logo should reflect six key elements:

  • The value of Montessori Education - “Education for Life”
  • The strong school community.
  • The beautiful school environment (and in particular the well loved pine forest).
  • The three cycle structure.
  • The development of a child’s whole potential, the value of the child as an individual and respect for differences.
  • The availability of playgroup, preschool and primary programs.

Building on an initial design concept, Jane (our Cycle Two and Three Art teacher) worked with second and third cycle children to bring the logo to life and this is the process she followed.

Jane initially showed the children the school hats and asked what the existing logo meant and got many and varied answers to this.

She showed them some simple common logos from advertising that they would recognise eg MacDonalds, Colgate, Nike, San Rimo pasta, Coke and talked about what the logo does and what it represents to each company.

Here is the final result:
